The Cobra Sport race type rear axle back for the MX-5 ND is the perfect upgrade for the motorist that requires more feel and emotion from their drive without breaking the bank. Offering the simplest solution to enhanced sound, the Cobra Sport race type axle back system replaces the stock rear silencer of the MX-5 with a free flowing stainless steel silencer unlocking a feeling of audible emotion as the ND accelerates through the rev range. Whilst providing the perfect Sunday soundtrack the Cobra Sport system also boasts a visual upgrade to make the rear of the ND stand out with optional carbon fibre tailpipes for those really wishing to make an entrance. This Mk4 Mazda MX-5 (ND) performance exhaust is made in 2.5/63.5mm pipework and fits from the centre section backwards, replacing the rear section only. Sound test results (1.5L RF): Engine at Idle: 68.7dB (+5dB) – Static 4,000rpm test: 93.1dB (+9.2dB). All relevant fittings and gaskets are supplied. EML lights may activate after removing the standard O/E catalyst. An ECU Re-map is recommended to correct this problem and stabilise all power increases. Of course this varies from engine to engine, our systems are designed and manufactured to maximize gas flow with increased diameter pipe work, free flowing silencers and mandrel bends which provide a much less restrictive exhaust system than original equipment exhausts, resulting in a much better engine response and increased BHP. Typically you can expect to achieve around a 10% increase from the installation of a cat-back system. Some individual products also show approximate power gains. Of course this varies from engine to engine, our systems are designed and manufactured to maximize gas flow with increased diameter pipe work, free flowing silencers and mandrel bends which provide a much less restrictive exhaust system than original equipment exhausts, resulting in a much better engine response and increased BHP. Typically you can expect to achieve around a 10% increase from the installation of a cat-back system. Some individual products also show approximate power gains.
